112-degree day gets us into the record book

Today is [was] the day that allows us to tell our grandchildren that we were here in the summer of 2007.

The Valley of the Sun lived up to its name Wednesday, as locals sweltered through a record-setting 29th day of 110-plus degree heat. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport reported 112 at 3:45 p.m.
